Blue Cross of Idaho (BCID) was established in 1945, making it the oldest health insurance company in the state. BCID is also the leading health insurer in Idaho because of their commitment to provide the best value in the health insurance industry. Individuals, families, and groups can choose from a wide range of plans and benefits. Individual and family plans include: BlueCare PPO, Personal Blue, HSA Blue, Essential Blue Basic PPO, Essential Blue Plus, and Dental Blue PPO. Large groups can choose from the following healthcare plans: Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), Traditional, and Managed Care. Small groups can also choose from Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), Traditional, and Managed Care. Other group plans include: Vision Services, Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Premium Only Plan, and Short Term Disability Determination. Seniors, over the age of 65, can apply for quality healthcare plans such as: Medigap (Medicare Supplement), Classic Blue, Senior Dental, Classic Blue Dental, Medicare Advantage, True Blue, Secure Blue PPO, and Optional Prescription Drug Benefit (Part D). All of these plans are designed to specifically meet the needs of the customers of Blue Cross of Idaho.
